tattoos and 2g's, games, and musical entries. Friday, January 16, 2009

Today I began to admire my 4 tattoos more, and decided I'm tired of having hidden ones. Therefore, my next tattoo will most likely be placed on my forearm, or by my elbow. This will make it so I have to wear at least a 3/4 raglan at work, but it's whatever, I could honestly care less. Also today, i picked up my 2g for stretching, and plan on doing that tonight, so im pretty stoked for that.

did i mention im a nerd?
I got home around 7 tonight, and sat in front of my TV and played Fable 2 till this entry. After this entry, I'll probably play it more, which I'm stoked for. It's funny too, cause my guy looks like Master Chief from Halo, and it makes me laugh. Call me a nerd, a dork. Whatever. I've been playing games since Commodore 64, so I'm allowed to be a "insert generic nerd comment here."

EC/TSA
Exit Cleveland was supposed to have a show today, but due to a snow day, all after-school activities we're curtailed, causing our show to be cancelled, seeing as how it was supposed to be in a school gym. it happens, so I'm not upset about it too much. Also, I can freely blame Justin for not bothering to even attempt to figure out if the show would have been on or not, and just used his "cunning" to assume it was cancelled (sorry, bro). Practice tomorrow.

Take Steady Aim is still kinda dead, as right now being the main writing force, I've been unable to send any of my stuff to gene, let alone record it decently to even send him. I have a couple songs in the works, a few finished, and a few covers in mind that we can record and such, so stay on the lookout.

ENERGY
"Invasions of The Mind"

With a different style of hardcore featuring practically 100% melodic singing, this band stands out from the likes of Daggermouth, Have Heart, and Verse. If you dig more poppy stuff, but still love those double time beats mixed with hardcore influence, this is a band for you.

now everybody's singing, la, la la la, la la la. Wednesday, January 14, 2009

I just finished listening to Homesick by A Day To Remember, and I have to say, it is one of the BEST albums I've heard in a long time. Right now, this is probably the only album I can listen to over and over again and just sing with. Wax Larry is amazing with Mike (TDWP) slayin' some vox, Family kicks ass with Vincent (Acacia) , and Sierra's (Versa Emerge) voice is absolutely a perfect fit with Jeremy's in If It Means A Lot To You.

Transit - Stay Home EP
The Wonder Years/All Or Nothing -Distances Split

Homesick by A Day To Remember leaked, and I got this wonderful album from lessthangene. I'm listening to it right now, and I can already tell that I'm going to love it. They never cease to amaze me.

15 minutes and I got caught in the halls.

School this morning from 8 am till 10:45 am. I could have passed on it and slept in, which is what i wanted to do, but I figure this time around I'll strive to get something done and get good grades. For western civ however, my teacher was 15 minutes late, which means I could leave, and as I was out the door, she pushed me right back in. I was pissed. But enough about school.

EXIT CLEVELAND.
Peter texted me today to let me know they were going in to work on our backing vocals for our two new songs. I'm stoked to hear exactly how they both come out, they sounded great unmastered, so I'm really excited. On Friday, we'll be playing a show at Mayfield High School i think, so im excited to play some more. If you live in the area, come on over and catch a show.

MAN OVERBOARD
"Hung Up On Nothing"

These dudes are amazing live, and amazing recorded. Fresh pop punk with old school influences like Taking Back Sunday and Blink, these guys score high on my list. Not to mention the drummer used to be in BANGARANG! which is absolutely amazing.
MAN OVERBOARD MYSPACE.

mutilations, haha Tuesday, January 13, 2009

I just recently started doing the whole tattoo and piercing thing, so heres my tattoos.

The star is on my right hip, ohio is on my back, the XXXs are on my left arm, and the chess pieces are on my right.

can anyone guess what the chess pieces represent? XD

also, im about to stretch my ears to 4g. i went from 10 to 6, and my ear hurt, so im going back to the simple size-to-size stretching, and im not skipping anymore levels.

POLAR BEAR CLUB
"Sometimes Things Just Disappear"

I saw these guys at Bernie's in Columbus a few months before they got signed. The room was packed, the energy was high, and these guys blew me away. If you dont even listen to them, you're giving them no justice at all, and they deserve the most.
you know whats up.
DOWNLOAD SOMETIMES THINGS JUST DISAPPEAR.

im not picky, gimme.

So my attempt at this is like a regular update on my life and bands, and every post i hope to throw in an album that keeps getting me through the year and life, and ill even post them for download! enjoy, because this time around ill be posting a few.

THE WONDER YEARS
"Won't Be Pathetic Forever EP"

This EP is possibly one of THE best albums I've ever heard when it comes to pop punk. I've seen them about 7 times in the year, and got to play with them 4 times. Awesome dudes all around. Not to forget to mention they played an acoustic show outside the grog shop in cleveland, ohio using Gene's and My guitars. As always, it was amazing.

BRING ME THE HORIZON
"Suicide Season"

Around summer, i was craving metal-core like no other. It wasn't until recently i listened to this though, seeing as how i greatly disliked "Count Your Blessings." To me, i feel this is much more melodic and easier to listen to, than their last album, even if BMTH strayed a little from their original path. top notch album.
DOWNLOAD SUICIDE SEASON.

FOUR YEAR STRONG
"Rise Or Die Trying"

This album has been my top album forever. Alan said in an interview "This is going to be one of the heaviest things you'll hear," and even though they have pop punk roots, he wasn't lying. Four Year Strong went from underdogs to leaders of the pack in this last year, and I can't wait for their next release they have to offer. I got a chance to meet these dudes at Cleveland's Warped Tour, and they were easily some of the nicest guys ever. You know what you have to do.
DOWNLOAD RISE OR DIE TRYING.

TRANSIT
"This Will Not Define Us" & "Stay Home EP"

These two albums brought to you by Transit are absolutely packed with emotion and energy, and are a must hear. Seemingly young guys, i've never seen such a show. absolutely amazing. not to mention Stay Home hosts a wonderful cover of "I'm A Loner Dottie, I'm A Rebel" by none else than The Get Up Kids.
DOWNLOAD THIS WILL NOT DEFINE US.

THE YEARS GONE BY
"Forever Comes Too Soon"

These kids got me back into pop punk when i was too busy listening to Acacia and STYG. This album is full of catchy riffs, awesome lyrics, and absolutely amazing songs. Pop Punk or not, these songs have strong emotion, and this album is a must listen.
DOWNLOAD FOREVER COMES TOO SOON.

ZOLOF THE ROCK & ROLL DESTROYER
"Schematics"

What can i say about Zolof.. Absolutely amazing. Masterminds Vincent and Rachael really do amazing work with their writing, not to mention they are top notch producers.

Second Day Back, and more.

Finally back at school, and I'm not sure how I feel about my classes. I'm taking Introductory Psychology, English 2, Western Civilization 2, and Speech.

Psych - Lecture Class. Should be easy, I hope.

English - I don't know for sure, but my teacher mentioned being senile, and I can kinda see it already.

Western - Just boring.

Speech - So far so good. I'm one of 2 guys in the class.

EXIT CLEVELAND:

BAND PRACTICE TODAY. Went good until we tried figuring out a cover song for an upcoming show. We settled for one the Joey and Peter had already thought about, and improvised something into it as well, so it should be good!

=====================

TAKE STEADY AIM:

Gene and I are still the only two. I've been writing, and seeing how EC decided not to do a certain cover, I'm snakin' it for TSA :D. It should be good.
